Speech to Motivate ... Drafted by Poornima Sony, XI B

Distinguished dignitaries on the dais, teachers, and my dear friends...

          “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”. These are the words of the articulate Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho. When you wish with all your heart and work with all your might, you are unstoppable from achieving your dreams. Demerits will transform into merits...hurdles never a hindrance...

                Your destiny is written in your heart. As Larry Bird said, “A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals. “Even if all of us have the potential to excel in life, most of us are defeated in its path .Why? The answer is simple. Failure to understand one's own potential is the root cause of defeat.
                             Most of us are compelled to follow the path taken by others and hide the shimmer of uniqueness within us. It is evident that chasing a dream that is not really ours leads to dissatisfaction. Compelled by others we tend to build up our life in the way others want it to be. Most often children are forced to follow the society trend in career selection. I think this is the root cause of increase in the number of unemployed youths in our country.
                    We must have the courage to work passionately for our dreams. Our country needs people who has the guts to say, “My uniqueness is my identity”. Goal setting, enhancing your knowledge, hard work and perseverance are the proven steps for success. As Kalam said,“Fight the hardest battle until you reach your goal, that is, the unique you”
      When you are stuck in the race of life, look into your heart and feel its beat telling you, “You are a champion...!” You will light up the whole world and shine like a star when you realise your real potential. Helen Keller in her autobiography says, “Every struggle is a victory”. Be constant as the northern star in your attempts, success will be at your doorstep...
Remember,
“Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.”
