'They Bloomed' --- Poem by Amitha Anikuttan

They Bloomed
They emerged from the ground,
They kept deep into the earth,
They spread their green wings,
They rose up along with the seasons,
They held their hands together,
They created the feathery fence,
They bloomed .....

Lovely and bright,
Yellow and orange,
Smiling with the butterflies,
Swaying in the wind,
Winking at the Sun,
Silent with the rhythm of the rain,
stood them .....

Each moment faded,
each leaf became withered,
Each petal fell down,
Each drop of honey dried up,
Each cent of sweetness drowned,
Each trace of green disappeared,
Each one was gone .....

Tender and soft,
Short and cute,
With the soothing wind,
Comforting Sun,
From the heart of the seed,
Bearing the soul of Nature,
They bloomed.....the hopes.
