Leaving the Meadow - A poem by Amitha Anikuttan ( Alumnus)
LEAVING THE MEADOW
A lovely little meadow
So green and fresh and glowing
The tiny lambs here and there
Gathered under the shepherd's crook
Freedom filled the air
Bounded by the fences
Happiness was there
Enchanted with goodness
Tears were also there
That turned into rainbows
With the light of holy sunshine
That made the lambs prettier
Purity was the way
Preaching made it brighter
Twists and turns were there
Those unwinded by the guardians
Now it's time to leave
The lovely safer meadow
As the lambs have transformed
And the time has come
The world is waiting out there
With the mysteries of life
The sparklings of hope
And the darkness of despair
The liveliness of truth
And the lifeless falsehood
It's time to enlighten up
With the might of the meadow
To go along the way
That has ups and downs
Till the end...
Where the eternity welcomes you.
