A tribute to India's own Indu ...

 India's own Indu

The first and only woman PM of India - Indira Priyadarshini, India's own Indu. India never had seen such a courageous, bold woman. She was beyond what one can imagine. She was like an avatar of mother India. Without her, our nation would have wilted and withered away. But now, a new generation is growing up without knowing such dedicated soul's.

From the Womb to the tomb her life was dedicated only for the nation. Even in the last breath she was running to serve the motherland.

Motilal's grandkid, Nehru's daughter and Feroz's wife - public thought that she was a power hungry woman. But despite all them she rejected any responsibilities of party and work as a public servant." A simple life, A small house in Allahabad, on the banks of Yamuna, happiness with husband and children…" this was her dream! But it's never happened. She was only created for the service to the nation. She couldn't run away from that.

Her childhood was just a training period for that. Well, it was lonely too. Sick mother and a very busy father created that. Growing in a place flooded with politicians, makes her dive into national service. She has to be, that is more correct. Shantiniketan shaped that little flower. Bapu's darling doesn't want any other Guru's. It was the rooting of the iron lady called Indira Priyadarshini.

There was nothing there to push away her from national service. So she flew away from Oxford to India. Started to work for what she created. People expected a parliamentary candidate and it was easy for her to win. But she never wish for that. She always believes that to serve nation, there is no need of power. But Indira couldn't run away from fate. Nehru's death created more problems. That was like the death of the captain of a sinking ship. Mother land was looking for her brave sons to lead her. But there was no one. So the women came.

In 1966 she became the PM for the first time and she proved to the world that women can lead well. Indira was not only a PM. She was one of us. She went everywhere in India whenever there was a problem. She stands as a woman from them. There by, India got not only a PM but a mother, sister, and a loving daughter...

An emergency, war...problems after problems, running to protect the country in the palm...that was her! Like a mother who always protects and supports her family even in any crisis, even in any situation, she was always there to speak for her mother land to anyone anywhere.

Nationalization of private sector banks, nationalization of industries, war with Pakistan and liberation of Bangladesh, Shimla agreement, emergency....she was an iron lady.

The country was finally getting a solace, mother was feeling good on her daughter's shoulder. Unexpectedly that happened. One of the kids who was supposed to protect her, killed! On 31 October 1984 Indira, India's own Indu, was assassinated. An era of Indian womanhood came to an end.

The country , India is awaiting for such soul's… to regain its heritage and culture...
