Mother, the Ray of Life

A woman is the entire light of a house. She is the pillar who supports the whole family. Her presence makes a house as a home. The poem 'Any Woman' by Katharine Tynan speaks about the importance of the woman in a family. She is the keystone of the arch and her presence helps to bind the family relations as strong as iron. Like a pillar she supports all in her family and makes it stands without breaking. She is a real source of unconditional love, sacrifice and affection.Without that woman her children would strive hard to live in this world. Because she holds her children together in the ring of love. She is the house from floor to roof. She is the one who closes the door of problems. She is the protective wall of her children. In her life she tries to hide and save her children from the eyes of vultures. She herself takes the risk and sorrows. She does not allow her children to make their eyes wet. She takes all sourness and gives all sweetness to her family. That is a

English Language Day, April 23rd

Why is English language Day celebrated? We are all proud of our mother tongue, yet no one can deny that English is a world language. It is widely spoken, and is the common language by which people of different nationalities can communicate with one another. World English Language Day is celebrated on 23rd April every year. The date was chosen because it is the birthday of William Shakespeare, one of the greatest English poets and dramatists of all time. English Language Day aims to entertain and inform people about the history , culture, and achievements associated with the language. The day often features book- reading events ,and other activities that promote the English language . By Rakhi B Nair, XII B

The Candle ...a poem by Amitha Anikuttan

The Candle  Roaming along the corridors of a grand mansion Created by a great magician I was surrounded by a companion Who waxed my ears With fuss and flurry and Veiled my vision With the deep dark hands. I moved on aimlessly A silence diluted the buzzing. A brightness lightened the darkness, Revealing the rhythm and sparkle of my wings. A deeper, daring, brighter world... The one stood there White and tall Wearing it's glowing long hat Over it's black narrow head Who made the transformations. It went on answering In a flicker or a flutter Or in a silence To the tricky tangled questions Of the traversing wind. It's body melted It's height shortened It's head lowered And made a white hard layer That remained at the base, Until it's long hat sank With the last melting drop Leaving a white silky Waft of smoke Floating in the air               - Extracted from the buzzing murmurings of a fly who

Vote is the precious backbone of democracy

'Always vote for principle though you may vote alone and you may treasure the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost'. - John Adams   Friends, after five years here comes the opportunity to raise your choice independently, ie election. And we Keralites will be at polling stations on 23rd of this month. Before electing a leader, we should be aware about the qualities of that person. Every single vote is precious in front of the nation. So as John Adams, the former president of the United States of America said, always vote for principle. People are different. Also, their ideologies are different. The leader's perspective about nation are also different. But the people's wish about the nation is unique. They dream a democratic country with peace  and  harmony, a secularized country, a nation which reflects equality etc. But the reality is contrasting. This is up to the leaders. A leader who has a good vision, a perfect panorama, valuable

Easter Message..

Easter is the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. Christ after the great passion and crucifixion has risen from the dead. It is the will of God the Father to save the people who have fallen to sins. He has promised to send a Saviour. Christ’s birth, life, the passion and the crucifixion was part of the divine will to save His people. It is a token of the unconditional and never failing love and mercy of God. Resurrection of Christ is the foundation of Christian belief. ‘Had he not risen from the dead, our belief would have been worthless’.   Christ’s birth, his life and the way to cross exemplifies ‘Kenosis’. Kenosis is a Greek word which means 'the emptying of self '. It is ultimately the emptying of Jesus’ own will and becoming entirely receptive to God the Father’s divine will. When Jesus was confronted with the passion in front, like all human beings, he becomes weak and goes to Gethsemane to pray. He receives the Divine power to submit himself to the passion after
