Physical Education...Is it a need ?
I presume, one of the sessions that we expected and enjoyed in our school life was physical education. Whatever be the studies, we all played with immense joy. It was a healer for our exhausted mind. It acts as a vent to ooze out the pressure imposed on our brain by parents and teachers.
But nowadays, majority of the children are displaced to indoor. They all like to be in their own comfort seat. They are not willing to be in hot seat. They all focus on video games. In a playground, a child has to play with many and he had to become the winner over other. While in video games, there is only one opponent, the system. The system itself gives the player a chance to win by providing skip, resume and pause options. He will not cop up with the failure and his mind becomes very narrow.
Outdoor games provide us to win or lose. We will tame our feelings, emotions automatically while involving in physical education. We will learn to obey and respect others. One who is very active in outdoor games has a healthy lifestyle. He will think about his body and health.
We will become more socialized. We will start to observe our surrounding, our mates. Our eyes and ears will focus on a lot of things around us and we begin to explore ourselves. Leadership qualities can be improved through physical education. We will learn how to solve problems and to help others.
Physical education provides us a lot of boon. Like John F Kennedy told, "Physical education is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body. It is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity".
