Listen Others ....Broaden you...

God has given us two ears but only one month, so we must use them proportionately. In this hectic and phony life people have become so ego-centric, so they don't have time to spare for others, not even to listen to their grief. In Sudha Murty's 'Horegallu' she speaks of the need of such listeners who could ease the pressure of many people just by listening to them. Listening is a voluntary activity but hearing is something that happens automatically. It is like the difference between looking and seeing.A person feels happy and relieved when he tells his problems to a sympathetic listener. By listening others we broaden our minds as we learn new things and we can also be 'horegallu's' to others. We must have an extra eye to see the unseen, We must have an extra ear to hear the unheard, We must have an extra heart to feel the unfelt. Let us all try to enliven the society around by being patient and empathetic listeners. Rakhi B Nair, XII B

Be Strong to Face Challenges

Life is a journey, in which some travellers have to walk through Thorn paved paths. They don't have anyone out for them , No, they don't like to share or let anyone know that they are walking through thorns. They are always misjudged. No one can read them because they are like books with black pages that hide their sorrows and dark side of their life. They may cry ,laugh and at times keep quiet. Their companions in life are faith in God and a strong mind. One day the thorns in their path will definitely feel shame that they can't make the traveller weak, instead the traveller gains strength from them . Here are a few quotes to inspire you to be Strong in life.  1. If you feel lost , disappointed, hesitant or weak return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong. _Masaru Emoto

Departure of Rain ......

School bell rang, Students rushed off from school, The clouds became black, Atmosphere went up to dark. But I was walking very slowly, Like I am waiting for someone madly. Then it came, with roaring music, And that rain won’t make me panic, I was lost in that music like my mother does. She loved rain and I hate it, I thought she loved rain more than me, Had affection for more than me. When I screamed for friendship, When I wept for friends, She just put her hand on my shoulder And told “Are you looking for a friend? Who looks out for you, inspires you, guides you And walks with you, then why can’t you see me?” That question made me cry, My first friend, my mother, One day she called me, Her face was dull; but Her eyes still had brightness She told “never hate rain” It will be your companion in sorrows and joy Then she touched my forehead, continued  "A smile on your face will bring Happiness in me miles away” Rain is over, not my memories. I open...

Physical Education...Is it a need ?

I presume, one of the sessions that we expected and enjoyed in our school life was physical education. Whatever be the studies, we all played with immense joy. It was a healer for our exhausted mind. It acts as a vent to ooze out the pressure imposed on our brain by parents and teachers. But nowadays, majority of the children are displaced to indoor. They all like to be in their own comfort seat. They are not willing to be in hot seat. They all focus on video games. In a playground, a child has to play with many and he had to become the winner over other. While in video games, there is only one opponent, the system. The system itself gives the player a chance to win by providing skip, resume and pause options. He will not cop up with the failure and his mind becomes very narrow. Outdoor games provide us to win or lose. We will tame our feelings, emotions automatically while involving in physical education. We will learn to obey and respect others. One...
