The first time I rode a scooter

The first time I rode a scooter was an instance of utter ridiculousness. I look back at that day with mixed feelings of horror, confusion and pride. It is one of the few anecdotes that remain like a permanent scar in the back of my mind. It was a warm Saturday morning and my family as a whole was feeling extremely amused for no particular reason. The atmosphere held a lazy mood and nature itself seemed to retire away to what was the beginning of a calm weekend. My father gave in to my constant nagging and agreed to teach me how to ride our brand new scooter. Extremely excited, I jumped upon the vehicle with enough enthusiasm to break the stand. Thankfully, that didn't happen. Father told me to calm down and allow him to take the scooter out of the shed in the first place. Grudgingly, I agreed. At first, my father briefed me through the basics - how to start the scooter, how to turn the handle, how to maintain the balance and so on. I listened attentively with the curiosity of a t

A tribute to India's own Indu ...

India's own Indu     The first and only woman PM of India - Indira Priyadarshini, India's own Indu. India never had seen such a courageous, bold woman. She was beyond what one can imagine. She was like an avatar of mother India. Without her, our nation would have wilted and withered away. But now, a new generation is growing up without knowing such dedicated soul's.          From the Womb to the tomb her life was dedicated only for the nation. Even in the last breath she was running to serve the motherland.            Motilal's grandkid, Nehru's daughter and Feroz's wife - public thought that she was a power hungry woman. But despite all them she rejected any responsibilities of party and work as a public servant." A simple life, A small house in Allahabad, on the banks of Yamuna, happiness with husband and children…" this was her dream! But it's never happened. She was only created for the service to the nation. She couldn't run away from th

Rise ...Poem posted by Varsha Laiju Kappen

This is not a song or a poem , This is a verse, an unsung rhythm, My feeble attempt to connect, inspire Using my words like harp and lyre; Rise against the crowd, stand out; You will not regret being called a liar, When you're shunned out, no one to relieve you, See, your sickness will be your cure; Forsaken, betrayed, feeling dumped and drained, Powers are useless in this world, this place; But I will fight back, hold my legacy, What they thought was my failure, my downfall Is my triumph, my glorious call; I deserve to be seen, I deserve to believe, The voice of the oppressed like death cries in the wind; But I will see that my days of trial, up from ash and dust Brings fruit for the 'morrow, brings me my empire, And I know that I have earned my crown. Modern Technology owes Ecology an Apology...... An essay by Clare Mary Saji

Some years ago, if someone would speak on environment or on ecology such person was called ' crazy'. The reason is that during that time there were not many environmental problems. However, today’s situation is different. Due to technological progress human needs have increased. Few decades ago human beings were satisfied with what is called ' Roti, kapda aur makan’( food, clothing and shelter). But today human beings want all kinds of comforts and luxuries including variety of technical gadgets, thus generating more and more waste. Now the greenery is replaced with concrete jungles, rivers carry the industrial and factory pollutants, the air is impure and dusty, surroundings are filled with heaps and heaps of garbage. We have been shaken by many of the environmental issues eg: Global Warming, depletion of ozone layer, extinction of different species of plants and animals, increasing number of cancer and cardiac related diseases. This being the situation, if we want a bett

For You to See.... Poem by Amitha Anikuttan, Alumnus

Image
FOR YOU TO SEE Why are them so charming?  Like the crystals Like the stars As the dew drops in the dawn As the pearls in the seashore They shine while smiling They giggle while laughing They sparkle in anger They weep with the tears Always they say what heart thinks It's through them...  I came to know The secret messages of clouds The curve of the rainbow The love of life The greatness of green....  In the time of departure When the last breath says goodbye I don't want them to be beneath the eyelids....  Here, I give them for you  Who lost the chance to see the light....  Post by Amitha Anikuttan, Alumnus Thanks a bunch Amitha...!!!

Tribute to the Beloved Teachers

Image
This is a tribute to all our beloved teachers on 05th September, 2020 on The Teacher's Day by the students of Class XII A. These lines are written by Aksa Roy and is recited by Abha Maria Jose Happy teacher's day Stepping into the realm of chaos was hard indeed Maybe not from the day 1 But somewhere ,you all came into our lives Don't know whether it was a serendipity A class full of dorks and nerds; overzealous crowd on the other side Lone birds sitting at the corner.. Our voices were different.. But you harmonized us..   Syllabus seemed strange and stupendous It was getting on our nerves.. But it vanished in the aura of your radiant smile The ripple of zest circled the room slowly we could feel the warmth in the air Struggling with the restless and reckless Battling with the books and taming the imps on the other side But you conquered us with your love And enlightened us with your words And bridging the textbooks with our souls We were

A tribute ...

Chemistry a world of reactions, colours, experiments, and indeed theories. It may seem to be of no order but it is actually of high order; seems to be silly and innocent, but is able to produce an atom bomb. The excitment that the subject brings me is amazing, so do the teachers that teach me. My passion for chemistry begun when I had been in 10th. The reaction between lead nitrate and potassium iodide produced a bright yellow colour stood me still, made my hair on spine stood up. Even this day I learn chemistry with the same excitment. Usually people who teach chemistry are very soft hearted and calm. If chemistry is personified, then to me it's Jessy ma'am. Just like the subject she brings me a lot of wonder and chill. She being a catalyst in my learning procedure brought the best out of me. She smiled at my jokes, watched me growing, nurtured me and slowly guided and protected me. Just like a mother she knew us, nurtured and took care of us. Being a subject dealing with gold

Impossible is Nothing

Impossible is Nothing Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.  Inspirational quote by Muhammad Ali. Secrets

Secrets are being the part in our life nowadays. Every person who is intimate to us have a lot  of secrets to share. But actually what does the word secret mean, when we give this  question to google it often gives us the three answers:  i)something kept hidden or unexplained. ii)something kept from the knowledge of others or shared only confidentially to few. iii)a method, formula or process used in an art or operation and divulged only to those of ones own company or craft. In today’s generation everyone has a tendency to peek into others secret. A life without  secrets is impossible nowadays. The world has reached in such a situation. Secrets can be  classified on the basis of various situation. There could be different kinds of secrets regarding  family, finances, habit, addiction, hidden relationship etc.. Secrets usually arise when we do some malpractices and richly impure activities. If we are  truthful and moving through the right path our life would be open and there would be

Space & Space Research

The space research is scientific study carried out in outer space and by studying out space. The term includes scientific payloads at any altitude from deep space to low earth orbit, extended to include sounding rockets research in the upper atmosphere, and high altitude balloons. During the 'Big Bang' ,all of the space, time, matter and energy in the universe was created. This giant explosion hurled matter in all directions and caused space itself to expand the outer space is not completely empty. The universe cooled, the material in it combined to form galaxies, stars and planets. Our universe is 13.8 billion years old and believes that there is no end to space. My Role Model

My mother is my role model as she inspired me the most. My mother is a wonderful person full of kindness and knowledge. She does so much for me. She gives me good advice and she teaches me moral values. My mother is very kind and hardworking. She teaches her children these qualities through her actions. My mother plays a vital role in determining a child's attitude. My mother is a very important woman in my life. There is nothing else in the world like a mother's love for  her child. She is smart, wise, ambitious and such a loving person. I learned from my mother that if I work hard, I will get what I want. I learned from my mother to be honest and believe in God. If I have to make any big decisions, I always ask my mom for advice because she has the wisdom and experience. She has a positive spirit and she believes in  God. She is full of energy and she still cares about everyone in  my family. She is my best friend also. My mother is a precious  gift for me. Post by Femyanns A

A Piece of Me....!

A piece of me.... There's nothing more comfortable than having a routine, but sometimes you've just got to break  free and do something crazy to feel alive. Travelling is the best way to get out of our comfort  zone and invite you to experience life in different ways. Why do I love it? I love the excitement of it all feeling like an explorer, discovering a new land, a new language,  new money and all the little challenges that go along with it. When I travel I'm more spontaneous  and don't live for the future or the past...just in the moment. Being impressive and saying yes to  nearly everything is part of the fun. I love the rush. Travelling seems to give me a near constant adrenaline rush. I experience a great  feeling of independence from travelling solo. But I'm afraid that it might take some time for my  solos to come. This craze for travelling keeps me refreshed, when my career studies are going so good along  with all the pressures of learning, travelling find
