The Outsider

Just like the past 4 days , Dennis stopped by the big blue building that suddenly sprang up in the middle of the city a few days back. Dennis stood staring at the strange building.. What would be happening inside? He couldn't find any details. Nothing was there to indicate what's inside.There isn't any sign of human life yet. Will it be some kind of a factory? No idea. 

After a while, Dennis continued walking to his house. In the evening, along with the tea he tried to list the facts he discovered so far. A big building.. huge..Blue in colour..No one is going in or out.There's a board in the front " WHITE PAPERS" in black letters on a white background. A large door in the front facing the pavement.There are many windows, but none of them have ever seemed to be opened.

The clock kept ticking. Dennis completed the paperworks for the next day. Unlocked his mobile phone and scrolled through the chats. There were 3 messages from Liya , his daughter.

"Hi Dad Did you start reading it? interesting?"

Dennis looked at the courier with the top part torn. It had a book in it.. an unexpected gift from his daughter on his birthday. He was a man who loved to read.. A person who never let any books escape his eyes.

But.. somewhere in the run of life , he lost the track . He turned to be a busy man running around the small world of his own life , trying to make ends meet. Getting soaked in the daily chores with the advancing gray hair.

He turned off the phone without giving a reply. And lied on the bed to sleep so as to wake up the next morning and continue the daily chores. But his dreams were caught by the new blue big strange building out there. What would be happening inside?

Maybe the whole pain and tragedies of the world being bound inside so as no one gets hurt. Or a magical world conjured up by some mysterious wizards? Would that be an island of memories , mixed with some unattainable wishes.. Could it be a doorway to the most complicated adventure in the world? Is there a chance of that being the magnificent source of answers for the questions about afterlife? Will it be a journey through the unraveled paths of human mind... It could be anything of course... ANYTHING, but what?

Again the next day in the evening, Dennis was standing in front of the big blue building. Suddenly the door opened with a creak. A tall old man , not as tall as a giraffe.. but taller than Dennis emerged through the door. "Who are you?" Dennis was really shocked , he looked around and made sure the question was to himself. "I'm just.." "Why are you standing here?" "Nothing.. I'm just an outsider." Dennis started walking away , trying to ignore the building."Outsider..? No outsiders are allowed here.. Get in if you want to know.." the man laughed out loud as it echoed in his ears.

Dennis reached home. The courier pack was lying on the floor. He took it and removed the cover. A pretty thick book ; around five hundred pages. The cover page was blue in colour , with the title written in black colour: WHITE PAPERS

He opened it.. his eyes focussed on the first line, after a long time as a reader's eyes. His mind slowly began to get free of all scrambled thoughts about the big blue building. "Get in if you want to know.." Now he understood.. No longer an outsider. His anxiety and excitement got unwinded while he started exploring the big blue thing that was a mystery for him till the time. Now he became a part of it.. the reader who's going to unravel the truth. The eager reader is back and the doors are no longer closed.
