That One Promised Oasis

That One Promised Oasis

You remember that time
You were in an oasis as a child
So you drag everyone with you
To see if it could be found.

The journey is quite costly
But it's a sacrifice you're willing to make,
The survivors will understand
When they see that oasis so great.

You think you finally reached it
And enjoy that water so tired
But it sticks to your hand
And tastes so much like iron.

Now you can't even be sure
If it was a dream or a memory,
When for those who are left
It was only a nightmare to see.
